Homeowners planning a custom home in Northern Colorado have a lot to think through before design and construction begin. This guide walks through featured custom kitchen in a practical way, with the details that matter most when planning a home that fits the land, lifestyle, and budget.
Quick Answer
If you are researching featured custom kitchen, the most important thing is to connect the design idea to the way the home will actually be used. A custom home should make daily life easier, support long-term plans, and fit the land, budget, and lifestyle of the homeowner.
Original Guidance, Reorganized
The distinctive finishes and style of this home come together to create an elegantly rugged design that flows throughout the home including in the beautifully equipped luxury custom kitchen. To create a kitchen that was not only beautiful but also functional, we chose elements from both traditional and contemporary design and carefully tailored every detail to make the most of this gorgeous space.
Design Elements
By combining industrial finishes with rich colors, we were able to create a kitchen that felt both chic and rustic. Wire brushed wood white oak flooring provided the foundation for a warm and inviting feel and the perfect balance to the more modern selections throughout the space. By pairing rich wood tones, soft neutrals, and bright whites with metallic finishes and accents, this luxury kitchen feels equally impressive and welcoming.
Appliances
To achieve the rugged glamour that transcends throughout the home, we chose to distinctively outfit the kitchen with Dacor Black Modernist Series kitchen appliances. The black metallic finish of these appliances offered the perfect way to accent the rustic sophistication of the kitchen design that make this space a focal point of the home. To accommodate any aspiring gourmet chef, we selected their 48-Inch Dual Fuel Range with Steam Oven and Griddle with a black metallic pot filler above it, along with a built-in Microwave-In-A-Drawer. Innovative 36-Inch Built-In Column Refrigerator and 36-Inch Column Freezer placed on either side of a 24-Inch Integrated Wine Column make entertaining a dream, while also creating a bold and eye-catching statement. Completing the high-end functionality of the kitchen, we built in a matching 24-Inch Dishwasher into the oversized kitchen island and even opted for a built-in coffee maker. These intentional appliance and design selections led this kitchen to be selected as a finalist in Dacor's National Kitchen Design Contest 2020.
Cabinetry
Rich tones in wooden ceiling beams and the metal kitchen hood complement those of the wire brush custom cabinetry found in the oversized kitchen island and on either side of the range. That warmth is beautifully contrasted with white acrylic top upper cabinetry found along the back wall and above the column refrigerator and freezer. Cabinetry was chosen to make a visual impact, but it was also designed to make the most of its functional use. Specialty pullouts were integrated throughout to accommodate knives, spices, Tupperware, pots, pans, cutlery, and even paper towels. Decorative toe kick, mirror back, and under cabinet lighting were also built in to fully accent the color of the cabinetry and textures of the materials.
Countertops and Backsplash
At the heart of the kitchen is the gorgeous oversized kitchen island with its impressive Cambria quartz countertop. The mitered thickened slab incorporates the dark hues found throughout the home into the crisp white surface. A designer light fixture strikingly outlining the Ursa Major constellation offers a glow of light that uniquely shines light above the granite composite sink and designer black metallic faucet. Adding a touch of masculinity without sacrificing on glamour, vertical straight stacked metallic tiles were chosen as the backsplash between cabinetry and above the range.
From the smallest detail to the beautiful finished picture, this indulgent kitchen was carefully curated to reflect the design preferences of the owners without sacrificing functionality, comfort, or the opportunity to entertain.
